An elementary art teacher, Kory Merritt currently writes and illustrates kids' books. His first book was The Dreadful Fate of Jonathan York, published by Andrews McMeel in 2015 (originally published online by Universal Press Syndicate and FunBrain.com in 2010). He is also the illustrator of a Poptropica graphic novel series from Abrams Books, which was based on a concept by Jeff "Wimpy Kid" Kinney and Jess Brallier.
Kory won the John Locher Memorial Award in 2007 for his newspaper illustrations and cartoons, and Dreadful Fate has been nominated for the 2016-17 Maine Student Book Awards.
He is often available for book festival appearances, school/bookstore visits, and workshops (see 'Contact').
